About Us
Our team includes young architects and creatives often from ‘non-traditional’ backgrounds, working together in a collective and collaborative environment to deliver our mission through creative experiences.
Our team is led by Venetia Wolfenden who founded Urban Learners and consists of creative teams, students and volunteers.
About Venetia
I have worked in the architecture sector for over 20 years, as both a qualified architect and education facilitator. After working as an architect for 12 years, I decided to make a career shift and help young people explore and understand their built environment, and studied MA Design Education at Goldsmiths College. Following this I was Open City’s education manager for 5 years where my work included the Accelerate into University and Architecture in Schools programmes.
I have continued designing and managing design projects through voluntary work with local schools. These projects have included participatory design workshops, and a primary school playground project formed the basis of my MA independent research thesis,
I am excited at the prospect of sharing my architecture education practice with urban learners of all ages.
