SCULPTURE IN THE CITY FAMILY TRAILS
An adventurous audio trail explores the hidden wonders of the City of London and illustrated printed trails navigate world class artworks in the annual urban sculpture park ‘Sculpture in the City’.
The family audio trail features a treasure trove of historical stories of the buildings and people of the City of London, from fire breathing dragons to riotous royals. Launched by Sculpture in the City on the Bloomberg Connects app, each of the 9 tracks is narrated by actress and writer Martha Howe-Douglas of Horrible Histories and Ghosts.
Whilst following the audio trail, you will time-travel back and forth across centuries to explore the rich past and futuristic present. Download the free Bloomberg Connects app and get started from Leadenhall Market.

The illustrated printed family trails follow the routes of two friendly dragons (a symbol of the City of London) to find the sculptures ‘loose’ in The City of London! Urban Learners designed trails for both the 12th and 13th Editions of Sculpture in the City with illustrations by Danielle Rhoda.
Each trail incorporates insights into each artwork alongside a diverse range of activities from sketching and investigating, to imagining what each artwork would say or acting out how they would move! The trail integrates illustrated binoculars, guiding families to look up and experience the architecture of the City of London as well as a magnifying glass highlighting the Bloomberg Connects audio guide stops.
Urban Learners delivered guided family tours along the trails for both the 12th and 13th edition artworks for families local to the City. In 2024, 3230 printed trails were distributed, with 1150 trails were delivered to local families. The Family trail for the 13th Edition of Sculpture in the City can be found here.
